Responsibilities

The Technical Trainer is responsible for teaching internal associates on how to use the ERP system, Agility. The technical trainer will provide training during the conversion of the remaining facilities to the ERP platform. When conversions are complete the business will shift into optimizing business processes, and the trainer will need to be highly engaged and drive the new processes throughout the 50+ locations. This will include developing the materials, communicating, scheduling, and deciding which training delivery method is best and executing the training plan.

  • Understands the company’s vision, mission, and strategy; understands business unit objectives and sets/accomplishes individual performance goals accordingly.
  • Have a strong understanding of how transactions flow through a fully integrated system and experience supporting ERP and supporting applications corporate-wide
  • Creates new and modifying existing training classes and associated materials. Ability to quickly learn new software, keep informed of software updates, and develop quality training programs
  • Prepares training material and curriculum, identifying the schedule when different processes need to be completed, onsite training, and supporting the associates during and immediately after implementation before transitioning over to Application Support
  • Reviews, discusses, understands, and executes the processes and procedures with the team on all facets of the project; including project kickoff, milestones, training and education, reporting, interfacing, troubleshooting, and issue tracking, and escalation
  • Attends on-site client visits throughout implementation to give a hands-on approach to the implementation process
  • Trainers can expect to travel 75% to 100% of the time and may occasionally be asked to work weekends during conversions

Requirements

  • 3-5 years’ experience in ERP and process training to adult audiences
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Must have demonstrated writing skills
  • Ability to deliver virtual and/or on-site training
  • Comfortable with high percentage travel requirements
  • Working in a multi-unit or distributed environment is ideal
  • Experience in Building Products or Wholesale Distribution is a plus
  • Customer-focused approach to problem identification and resolution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for training, emails, instructions, presentations, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills with a demonstrated aptitude for creating instructional content for both a technical audience and a business user audience
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working with software implementations and understanding what goes into training users on a new application
  • Experience with needs assessments, course development and design, and presentation/facilitation of professional training courses
  • Proficiency and advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe Connect and Microsoft SharePoint
